Forever the ham. Me on the illegal pier along the Charles River. Apparently, I am now on the lam...evading scores of policemen as we ran off after I jumped the fence.

Rediscover the Cities You Once Loved By Alix J. Shutello When I arrived in Boston last weekend I checked into the OMNI Parker House hotel, located near Government Center downtown, and prepared myself for my running tour with RunBoston cofounder, Abby Perrine.  The Boston running tour company specializes in taking runners around the city and providing a very thorough and detailed history of the city and its landmarks. The organization also hosts group runs. People who sign up to do a running tour can merely go for a run with a local guide or, like me, immerse themselves in the city’s culure.…

Running In Spain – Es Marvilloso!

Two Glorious Weeks Running in Some of the World’s Most Beautiful Places. By Alix Shutello   In September 2010, I had the privilege of traveling to Spain with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law for two glorious weeks on a multi-city tour through Barcelona, Granada, Sevilla, and Puerto Banus. While we stayed in hotels or apartments, one of the places we stayed was in former Tottenham footballer, Darren Anderton’s apartment. Time Away from Training Can Rejuvenate Both Mind and Body Vacation is necessary. It is a time to take a break from work and to spend time alone or with family. If you have an injury, nothing is better than to take some time to relax before venturing out again.  The last month I have been sick. My 80-mile round trip commute coupled with the stress of kids and family, not to mention new demands on my job have chewed me up. Also, while that is all going on, it’s not officially summer yet, but the over 90 degree on the Eastern…

Fenwick Island Running A Must

I’ve run in some pretty cool places; from Hawaii to New York City to Colorado Springs to Washington, DC.  I do hope to run abroad in a race – and had my eye on a race in Valencia, Spain but I may end up going back to France to see St. Michel before they put in the wind farms along the coast.       Alix at Fenwick Island, DE Here I am at a nice look out point on Fenwick Island in Delaware. I run with my IPhone and catch cool photos but I’m never in them so I asked two unassuming…
