Linsemyer Family Hosts Annual 5K Run In Memory of Tom. Every Year, the Linsemyer family gathers in Laurel for the annual Tom’s Reindeer Run 5k in honor of young Tom Linsemyer, who died a number of years ago. The family, including relatives, cousins, and strangers like myself, came to run a race on a beautiful Winter morning in Laurel, Maryland on November 27, 2010. The course winds through the neighborhoods that the Linsemyers grew up in, up hill and down dale on a moderately challenging course with a hairy uphill climb to the finish. John Linsemyer, one of Tom’s older siblings, was the race organizer this year, where over 200 people gathered in the 35 degree cold. While the proceeds of the race go to Sarah’s House, participants get a T-shirt and awards for winning in their age groups. There’s coffee, donuts, bagels, and a wonderful hometown feel. Tom’s Mom…
